Scaffold towers are temporary frameworks of metal pipes. These pipes could be made from either steel or aluminium. Aluminium is preferred over steel as it is light, flexible and more durable. Such a modular system consists of couplers which act as nuts or bolts joining the metal tubes. The framework also contains boards made from wood and they are used to support the workers and accessing the raw materials.

Although the scaffold towers are strong, safe and dependable, one should take the following precautions while using these frameworks:
1) The workers using the scaffold towers should be harnessed with safety tools and rails.
2) The pulling of the scaffolding should be performed under a competent supervisor.
3) All the workers working on the scaffold towers should be made well aware of the methods and settings for using the framework.
4) To be completely foolproof, the manufacturer’s manual guide should be referred to and followed.
5) Any slight error or default in the tower should not be neglected. The issue should be immediately taken to the higher authorities and should be resolved at the earliest opportunity.
6) All the scaffold towers, rails and other equipments should undergo a good quality check.
7) The management and the workers should be well connected and any changes or information should be well communicated to the workers.
