Ladders are one of the oldest tools used and they come in useful when trying to reach heights. In the past, ladders were of two types; wooden ladders and rope ladders. Rope ladders were mainly used on ships whereas wooden ladders were used in houses. Today the ladders are of different types and made out of different materials that are sturdier and more stable than wood. There are loft ladders, extension ladders, telescope ladders and scaffold towers. These ladders may be made from materials such as aluminum, steel, wood, fiberglass and iron; and each of them vary in weight.
Loft ladders and extension ladders:
Ladders come in very handy around the house, whether it may be for electrical purposes or otherwise. Loft ladders especially, make it much more accessible with its foldable design that makes it neat to store when not in use. Extension ladders on the other hand are made up of two or more ladders that overlap each other and are held together by a rubber clamp. This ladder is the answer to having an extra long ladder with more stability and grip.
Telescopic ladders and scaffold towers:
Telescopic ladders are one of the most innovative ladders that save a lot on space. It can be folded and stored very easily. Scaffold towers are made up of platforms and pipes and are held in place by fittings. Scaffold towers are essential in constructing buildings. It can be of a great height and hence extreme caution must be taken while putting it together.
