Use loft ladders to reach into your loft safely

September 16, 2009
Posted in Ladders — Written by Bill

These days, almost everybody uses their loft room or attic for some purpose. Due to the increasing problems we face with lack of space, people are left with no choice but to use every available area in their home. Thus, large loft rooms are converted into bedrooms or living rooms while small loft rooms are used for storing goods that are not needed everyday.

When lofts are converted into rooms, usually permanent staircases are built. But for reaching up to smaller lofts and attics that are used for storage purposes, people sometimes use chairs and stools to stand on to reach the access hatch. This can be very risky as the stools and chairs can slip, thus there is a potential that the person will be injured that was using these items to reach the height.

The best way to avoid such accidents is to install loft ladders. Loft ladders are available in various styles, sizes and shapes. You can fit the loft ladder in a way that it can be pushed into the loft when the hatch of the loft is closed. These ladders are fixed and do not need to be stored in a different location.

Wooden loft ladders that are fixed in this manner are very useful and safe. These loft ladders are fitted with twin handrails to provide extra support to the user. The rungs of these loft ladders are fitted with anti slip material to also give better protection to the user. Since one end of the loft ladder is fixed it offers complete stability and is perfect to be used by everyone in the home.
