What size does the hatch opening need to be?
This differs depending on the size you choose. The 2 section model needs 56cm x 35.7cm and the 3 Section requires 50.8cm x 43.2cm. More information on fitting measurements can be found at the bottom of the product page.
How much does the ladder weigh?
The 2 section models weights 5kg and the 3 section is 6kg. More technical information regarding both ladders, including climbing angle etc. can be found in our ‘Fact Sheet’ section on the product page.
Will I need anything to be able to reach the ladder when it is in the loft?
No need. We supply an operating pole free of charge to push up and pull down the ladder.
Does the ladder include a hatch door too?
The hatch door for the loft is not included with the purchase of the ladder. We do however, supply a conversion kit which enables you to convert an existing push up door in to a swing down door.
Does the ladder have locking hinges on both sides?
The ladder has locking hinges on just one side of the ladder. This makes it a lot easier to operate, whilst not compromising the strength of the ladder.
Is the ladder easy to operate?
Our Sliding loft ladder is one of the easiest loft ladders to operate, that we supply. It is lightweight and comes with a long operating pole to assist you with this.
Are the ladders easy to fit?
This can easily be fitted by any capable DIY’er. We supply full, detailed instructions on how to assemble the ladder. If you are ever in any doubt, you can give us a call. Alternatively, if you would rather not fit yourself, any local handyman or carpenter would be able to install it for you.
